Shaanxi Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium

The Shaanxi Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium is a landmark multi-purpose indoor arena in Xi’an, China, serving as a core venue for the 14th National Games of China, hosting gymnastics and fencing competitions, and acting as the backup venue for the Games’ closing ceremony. With a total construction area of 72,450㎡ and a seating capacity of 7,048, the gymnasium features a distinctive large-span steel dome structure, presenting significant acoustic challenges due to its spacious interior and complex reverberation characteristics.

LAX was selected to deliver a customized sound reinforcement solution, utilizing 76 units of AT series dual 12-inch line array loudspeakers arranged in a ring configuration under the dome. This design ensures even sound distribution across all spectator areas and the competition floor, while effectively controlling reflections to maintain high speech intelligibility and clear musical reproduction. The system is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of national-level sports events, ceremonies, and large-scale cultural performances, providing stable, high-quality audio for athletes, audiences, and organizers.
